Results from Ashton Tweed's October Survey

Last issue we asked our readers:
In this time of an "economic roller coaster," how do you expect your future hiring needs will be affected over the next 12 months?

Here are the survey results:

The response to our October survey was excellent! Of the more than 900 people who responded, a majority (67%) work for large companies with over 100 employees.

  • 38.6% of respondents said hiring will stay about the same.
  • 19.8% of respondents said hiring will increase.
  • 13.9% of respondents said hiring will decrease.
  • 7.7% of respondents said they would make more use of consultants for specific tasks for a defined period of time.
  • 20% of respondents said that both hiring would decrease and they would make more use of consultants for a defined period of time.
Survey Results

This survey demonstrates a positive trend in hiring in the life sciences, with over 58% of the respondents indicating they will maintain or grow their current hiring activities.
