Tweed Launches Free Report on Reimbursement
Ashton Tweed has launched the first in a new series of industry reports authored by experts from our Executive Talent Bank.
Roadmap to Reimbursement, by Fortune 100 reimbursement executive William Ashton, highlights ways companies can avoid common
pitfalls and begin to build a complete, effective reimbursement strategy to maximize ROI.
The free report, which is available as a PDF download from our website, discusses:
- How to ensure that your product achieves a highly desired reimbursement status over its life cycle;
- How to develop a winning strategy for private insurance reimbursement; and
- How to avoid the pitfalls of the government funded reimbursement system.
The reimbursement status of a product is a significant factor in determining its potential patient population and is a core aspect of
securing maximum ROI. Ironically, many executives polled by Datamonitor stated that their companies were failing to commit adequate
time and resources to handling their reimbursement challenges. Roadmap to Reimbursement offers guidance for life sciences
companies on developing an effective reimbursement strategy to cover a product's complete life cycle.
"We believe Roadmap to Reimbursement will be a useful guide for companies planning and developing reimbursement strategies
and that the report meets a need for clear information on navigating the private and public reimbursement systems," said Jim Rudman,
CEO, Ashton Tweed. "We look forward to continuing our series of reports by our Executive Talent Bank experts on topics that affect
the way life sciences companies do business."
Roadmap to Reimbursement's author, Bill Ashton, is a Fortune 100 senior executive with over seventeen years experience in Biotechnology
management. After a lengthy career at Amgen Inc., the world’s largest biotech firm, Bill took early retirement in 2005. During his final
executive assignment, he served as VP of Commercial Affairs and Reimbursement (2003 – 2005) and was directly responsible for strategy
development and corporate activities designed for key government agencies including: Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Office of
Inspector General, Government Accountability Office, Office of Management and Budget, and MedPAC. Bill is currently an Associate Professor
at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia.
The report is free and you can request a copy either by visiting our website (www.ashtontweed.com)
or by calling us at 610-725-0290 x 446.

Tweed Partners Share
their Support at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's Golf Outing
On August 30, 2007, Ashton Tweed partners Jim Rudman and Jim Laird
participated in the Nineteenth Annual Duffers' and Pros' Golf Tournament to Benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The tournament, held at the Pine Hill Golf Course in Pine Hill, New Jersey, featured 62 golfers united to support
Cystic Fibrosis research.
The tournament began in 1989 when its founder, Bill Maffucci, wanted to create an event that could help fund the fight
to cure cystic fibrosis and also appeal to weekend golfers who might be reticent to participate in the more competitive
fundraising tournaments already in existence. The event has grown steadily over the past nineteen years, and this year's
tournament featured 60 hole sponsors, including Ashton Tweed, and raised approximately $10,000 for the CF Foundation.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the leading organization in the United States devoted to developing the means to cure
and control cystic fibrosis and improve the quality of life for those with the disease. The CF Foundation has more than
80 chapters and branch offices nationwide. The foundation also funds and accredits 115 CF care centers across the country
that provide patients and families with treatment and other CF resources.
"We were pleased to gather a foursome including Lisa Goldsborough of Pennyslvania Bio, Dom Vacca of Acsys, and my partner
Jim Laird to participate in the tournament and to support this event by sponsoring a hole. We are grateful for the
opportunity to support the work the CF Foundation is doing to fund breakthrough research and improve the lives of those
with cystic fibrosis, and we look forward to next year’s successful tournament," said Ashton Tweed CEO Jim Rudman.
