In the 2014 Global CEO Survey, PWC interviewed CEOs across all industries. In this survey, they discovered that CEOs in the pharmaceuticals and life sciences sector are embracing the rapid progress of technology and have concerns about protecting their intellectual property, over-regulation, and integrity. In addition, when it comes to the talent challenge, their views are positive.

 

Here are the survey statistics of pharmaceutical and life science CEOs backing up these concerns:

 

  • 72% of CEOs in this sector see advancing technology as a transformative trend.

 

  • 64% of CEOs in this sector are concerned that an inability to protect intellectual property will slow growth.

 

  • 47% of CEOs in this sector are concerned that over-regulation could slow growth.

 

  • 76% of CEOs in this sector place importance on the integrity of their supply chain.

 

  • Only around 50% of CEOs in this sector are concerned about the availability of talent, this year.
