Please join the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (PICC) on April 18 as they present the 2016 Yitzhak Rabin Public Service Award to the Honorable Jack A. Markell, Delaware Governor. This event will salute Governor Markell for forming powerful and productive commercial and research ties between Israel and the First State.
The Rabin Award is the Chamber’s highest distinction. It is presented to individuals, businesses, and academic institutes who have broaden the business or academic ties between Israel and the Greater Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern New Jersey region.
Under Governor Markell’s stewardship, the State of Delaware has led annual corporate, trade and academic missions to Israel. As a result, thousands of Israeli high-tech and other businesses have incorporated in Delaware, helping to make Israel one of the top countries for companies establishing their legal homes in the state, which has given these businesses better access to capital and commercial markets around the world. That means billions of dollars being invested in the Israeli economy. In addition, Delaware companies and the University of Delaware have been engaged in joint ventures with Israeli partners to produce cutting edge innovations.
