G. Steven Burrill Issues Annual Predictions for the Biotechnology Industry
Biotech visionary G. Steven Burrill, CEO of Burrill LLC and Burrill Media, issues annual predictions for the life sciences at the start of each year.
Last year’s IPO and M&A activity was unprecedented and has set up 2015 to be a year of solid performance. Burrill says that the biotechnology industry will likely see financing activity slow, but the pace of innovation will increase as companies put the money they’ve raised in 2014 to good use. With this increase will come pressure from payers on pricing as the transformation of healthcare accelerates.
Overall, Burrill predicts that 2015 will bring an increased capital base, important drug approvals, exciting new products, and expanding global needs.
