Obama to Nominate Robert Califf to Lead FDA

President Obama plans to nominate cardiologist and medical researcher Robert Califf as the next commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration.

 

Dr. Califf was named the FDA’s deputy commissioner for medical products and tobacco in February. He was previously at Duke University where he had served as a professor of medicine, a leading pharmaceutical researcher and the vice chancellor for clinical and translational research.
