Pfizer Reveals Unique “American Idol” Strategy For Hiring Employees

Pfizer has a fresh way of hiring its Swedish employees. Last spring Pfizer had six job openings and 200 applicants. The company took the novel approach of looking solely at how applicants interacted.

 

Pfizer conducted in-depth personal view questionnaires and a round where candidates were given three minutes to talk about the ‘most burning question for you.’ After the group had been reduced by their answers and interactions, Pfizer then chose its new hires based on how well they fit with the company’s culture and mission. The new hires are happy in their jobs and the company is very satisfied with them and the innovative hiring process.
