Pharmaceuticals and life sciences: Managing innovation in pharma

A recent PwC survey focused on the issue of managing innovation in pharmaceuticals. Seventy-six pharmaceutical executives located in thirteen countries were included in this survey. In summary, the figures show that the industry invests more of its revenues in innovation than other sectors. In the area of innovation, the business emphasizes its focus on products and business models and focuses less in the areas of systems or services. Not surprisingly, the survey results also confirm that the most innovative companies are growing faster than their less risk-taking competitors. These groundbreaking businesses are even looking for ideas outside their companies and are exploring projects with external partners and customers.
