MEDICAL WRITER TRANSFERS VISA TO FILL ROLE

THE CLIENT OPPORTUNITY

A global biotherapeutics leader was looking for a Senior Medical Writer in the Greater Philadelphia area. Regulatory medical writers are notoriously difficult to recruit for, a major reason being that medical writers often desire freelance and remote work only. As a very large company with a sizable workload, the client had a number of similar, non-freelance openings that they were struggling to fill.

THE ASHTON TWEED SOLUTION

The client came to Ashton Tweed with specific requirements for this position. The candidate needed a minimum of 5 years medical writing experience within the biopharmaceutical industry or a contract research organization (CRO) in addition to a solid understanding of the clinical development process, including the documents that are required at each stage. Prior experience with submissions in Common Technical Document (CTD) format was vital, as well as expert MS Office skills with a special focus on word processing, tables, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics and templates.

Within this small group, the client hand-selected their ideal choice for the open role.

The hired candidate was a PhD with 6 years of biopharma and regulatory submission experience. This professional had a deep understanding of the clinical development process, pharmacovigilance, and CRO management in addition to prior experience with submissions in CTD format. The client was pleased with this person’s advanced knowledge of clinical documentation; GLP, GVP, GCP, and ICH/FDA regulatory guidance; and ICMJE, GPP3, publications guidelines and authorship requirements.

THE BENEFITS
