The top 10 drugmakers of 2024
As predicted in a recent report by EvaluatePharma, the top 10 drugmakers in 2024 will hold a combined 35% of the total biopharma market share – more than $420B in sales that year. The report predicts that AstraZeneca and Bristol-Myers Squibb will grow their sales the most over the upcoming years. Taking the biggest step down is Merck, which is predicted to drop three spots from its 2017 sales ranking.
Cancer medications will make up half of the top 10 drugs by 2024 sales, according to the analysis, which excludes generics. Should Takeda complete its acquisition of Shire, the combined company would be big enough to take one of these top 10 spots. Here are the top drugmakers ranked by projected sales in 2024:
