Ashton Tweed Partner, Jordan Warshafsky, had the privilege to work both behind the scenes and center stage at the BIO International Convention in Philadelphia last week. As a company that was born and raised in the Greater Philadelphia Area, Ashton Tweed was honored that Philadelphia would be hosting the world’s premiere biotechnology event, and the industry’s largest and most diverse meeting.

Jordan, who is very active in PA BIO and BIONJ, was invited to participate in three BIO committees: The Program Committee, Career Fair Committee, and Host Committee. For the past 9 months, he worked behind the scenes to bring BIO to Philly and to prepare to host thousands of biotech leaders from over 60 countries.

As a member of the Program Committee, Jordan helped create a top-quality educational program for the convention. In addition, he presented the Résumé Builder Workshop alongside Joulé Staffing Solutions and Morphotek as a part of the  very successful Career Fair at BIO. Jordan mentions a special thanks to Matthew Levy, Senior Global HR Lead Generalist/Business Partner, Janssen R&D, Johnson & Johnson for his help orchestrating the event.

Jordan reflects, “It was really exciting to be behind the scenes and to be able to contribute in a small way to the success of BIO. I especially enjoyed being able to present to over 600 people over two sessions on how to better formulate their résumés. Hopefully our panel was a help to many of those people.”

Ashton Tweed was pleased to hear that 15,858 industry leaders attended BIO2015 and that the convention set a new record of 29,279 partnering meetings. The firm is both proud of and impressed by Philadelphia’s growing presence in the biotech community.
